The
topic of my action research is developing basic knowledge of Mathematics such
as subtract. I have faced many problems in the learning teaching process of
grade 7 - B. I mentioned all these problems in my reflective journal. Among
them this problem was the major one that I could not continue the learning
teaching process in the class room. So, I started to do research. In here my
objectives were,
Ø To create an interest in student to
learn mathematics.
Ø To improve students basic
mathematical skills such as subtraction,
Ø To create a person who uses
mathematics in day today life.
Ø To create a learning environment
which all the students can learn mathematic enthusiastically in the class room.
To achieve
these objectives I had to plan my intervention step for the three months.
Following is the intervention plan which I used to do my research.
I created activities regarding
the each and every step separately. Then I hoped to develop students’ level
step by step. I needed to improve students simple to complex.
Intervention No – 01
From the beginning as my first I conducted a discussion
with my target group to give awareness about the importance of learning
mathematics. I conducted it on 25th of June. At the discussion students
talked well and actively. In his discussion I explained the value of the
mathematics subject. This step is very important to success of the research.
Intervention No – 02
In
this step I introduced students to basic symbols of mathematics. Some students
of my target group some student can not identified symbols. I introduce it
print largely. And I drew it by them in the ground.
Intervention No – 03
In the second
step I needed to develop the knowledge about the place value. So I created two
activities to develop the ability of identifying the place value of the number.
To teach this concept I used after school class and relief periods. When I
create the activities regarding this I got the help of teachers in primary. In subtract,
I used text book of grade 2 and 3. I
created two activities regarding this step.
Intervention No – 04
In this step I tried to develop students’ knowledge
regarding the subtraction. I hoped to develop this concept because of it is
very important to not only learning teaching process but also day to day life.
So I used 3 activities to improve the students’ level.
