                                        In grade 07 students at R/Emb Madampe Vijaya Maha Vidyalaya there are some students in the class who haven’t the basic knowledge of Mathematics.

06. Introduction of the problem :
                                        When I teach in the class room students engage in another work. Sometime they shout and do not do the activity or the lesson. When I search about that problem that I found they have not good interest for Mathematics. They can even add or subtract number. Also I found about that from Term test marks. Some students lose marks when doing additions and subtractions.

07. Research Question :
                                        What can I do develop student basic knowledge in mathematics.

08. Target group of the study :
                                        Group of student who have not the basic knowledge of Mathematics in grade 07 at R/Emb Madampe Vijaya Maha Vidyalaya.



09. Steps of the Intervention :
                                        Some students have not the basic knowledge of mathematics is my problem.
Ø  Introducing the numbers abd the symbols related to the subject Mathematics to the students.
Ø  Introducing the face value of numbers.
Ø  Give concept of addition.
Ø  Give concept of subtraction.

5.0 Alternative interventions and suggestions.



Alternative interventions and suggestions.



                                    I had got many conclusions from my research. Students can not learn with out teachers and parent guidance. Therefore  in the grade 7 ages also teacher has to always with them and gives attention for each student’s personally. Teach the students well, about the basic concepts in large numbers from their primary classes Explain further about international system, place value and expanded form.

                                    I got only 3 months for did that research. There for I got lack of time to motivate students. There for time duration should be increase.

¨     Teachers should pay similar attention to every student.
¨      Prepare lesson plan well.
¨      Teacher has to make good relationship with students.
¨      Assign more exercises.
¨       Teacher should help students to solve their Educational problems and personal problems also.
¨      Check child’s exercise books regularly.
¨       Use ICT tools to create an interest among the students.
¨      Advise parents to check their children book and educational work at home.

4.0 Conclusions






                        After conducting my action research of developing grade 7B selected students’ basic mathematical knowledge as subtracting I realized some conclusion about students. I prepared it as a list of conclusions.

¨      Students should improve simple to complex.
¨      Most of the students have an thoughts that Mathematic is a difficult subject.
¨      Knowledge is not enough for the mathematics.
¨      Students show less interest for mathematic.
¨      Slow learners need more attention rather than gifted students.
¨      Students never tried to do home work of mathematic.
¨      Doing more exercises is very essential for mathematics subject.
¨      Most of parents are not educated to pay attention for their children education.
¨      Students haven’t clear idea about the benefit of education as they are lack of educational family background.
¨      Practical learning environment develop the students’ knowledge, attitudes and skills.

                                    In the future situation teachers have to push students always to forward and encourage. Therefore teachers have to motivate them always and advise them to live in the world and advise them to importance of education and as well as mathematics.
